Scientific Team Leader
Our client is an award-winning medical communications agency based in Surrey. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Scientific Team Leader to further enhance the quality of their offerings and support a team of medical writers.
In this role, you will be able to work closely with brand planners to provide medical strategic direction and tailored innovative solutions to clients. A critical part of the role will also include nurturing the growing writing team to ensure robust and relevant content generation across platforms and deliverables. This is a great opportunity to work closely with other strategic leads to drive strategic thinking and pull-through into global projects within different therapy areas such as (e.g.) oncology, diabetes, and rare diseases.

Work with account teams and senior leadership to ensure all account objectives are met
Proactively suggest opportunities for growing existing client accounts
Contribute to the development of proposals, and present at pitches when appropriate
Work with Client Service teams to input into scopes and budgets as required
Promote and maintain a high quality of medical writing across the team and demonstrate strong briefing and reviewing skills
Assist with the development, monitoring and promotion of quality control processes and procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Life science degree (MSc or PhD preferable)
Significant editorial or writing experience in the medical communication industry.
Experience of managing or mentoring editors/writers.
Broad scientific and therapeutic experience with excellent research and analytical abilities; experience in cardiovascular, oncology and immunotherapy therapy areas a plus
Excellent editorial competency and the ability to critically review project work for scientific accuracy and integrity
Able to identify new business opportunities, and to drive proposal development and presentation to clients
An excellent communicator, influencer and networker
