Associate Medical Director
Our client is an international medical communications agency. Due to sustained growth they have an opportunity for an Associate Medical Director to join their medical education team and be based in their gorgeous Surrey offices.
The Associate Medical Director directs the medical and scientific strategy for multiple therapy areas and ensures the clinical relevancy and accuracy for all the materials developed by the team. The Associate Medical Director also works closely with the account and creative teams in researching, reviewing, and writing scientific material. You will be responsible for building an internal understanding of relevant drugs and therapy areas, as well as assessing the current and future competitive environment and providing strategic counsel to your clients.

Support all medical affairs activities, under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer
Undertake medical and scientific research in support of new and ongoing projects and produce scientifically robust materials
Demonstrate a high level of scientific and medical credibility, internally and externally
Demonstrate a high level of commercial sensitivity and understanding in research, documents and presentations, without losing sight of clinical and scientific credibility
Build KOL relationships to support various projects and account teams
Produce scientific narratives at start of new projects
Represent the Medical Affairs team at client meetings
Support pitches, including research, preparing and making presentations
Support the production of all necessary budgets associated with key activities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Qualified in Medicine, ideally with current GMC registration; addition qualifications in science would be advantageous
Previous experience in in medical affairs and/or clinical development or working within a healthcare communications environment
Experience in a range of therapy areas including diabetes, rheumatology, respiratory, dermatology or vaccines
Experience with KOL mapping/development, interviewing and Advisory Boards
Compliance/Regulatory Guidelines: sound up to date understanding of UK/EU medical (e.g. GMC) and pharma (e.g. ABPI) compliance and regulatory (e.g. EMA/MHRA) laws, guidelines and practices
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Creative and flexible problem solver
Excellent interpersonal skills and a great team player
