Our client is an international medical communications agency. Due to sustained growth they have an opportunity for an Account Director to lead one of their teams and be based in the Surrey office.
You will be working with some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies on accounts across therapy areas including haematology, nutrition, oncology and diabetes. They take a patient centric approach to their work to best understand the patient journey and therefore create directed messaging that works.
As an Account Director, you will provide clear project leadership to those in your team, ensuring your projects and accounts are completed according to the budget and time requirements. Additionally, you will act as a first point of contact for clients, anticipating and resolving problems head on and providing clear and timely solutions. You will be working on a growing account in the UK / Europe with a wide ranging programme including meetings and road shows.

Lead and motivate the account team to fulfil their potential
Lead client or project-related meetings and ensure the account team is briefed and on top of all project requirements
Responsibility for developing, budgeting, managing and finalising client activity programmes
Ensure account team members take ownership and responsibility for projects
Proactively advise the client on new issues and the external environment
Liaise with the finance department regarding current the financial status of projects
Develop, approve, reconcile and negotiate project budgets
Assist with the preparation of proposals, cost estimates; providing information for pitches and additional business opportunities.
Make recommendations to the management team on project resourcing and staffing requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Life Science / Communications degree
Significant previous experience in a medical communications agency leading an account management team
Ability to successfully manage the client relationship
Understanding of local, European and Global pharmaceutical regulations
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Strong organisational skills, including ability to prioritise and to balance multiple priorities
Attention to detail and excellent quality-control skills
Budgetary control and forecasting skills
