This is a new opportunity to join a market leading Medical Communications company to further expand their Market Access services. Principal purpose of the role:
- Use strategic insight to research, prepare and technically review high quality deliverables for the pharmaceutical industry to support market access, using the principles of health economics, health outcomes, evidence-based medicine and health policy.
- Both for the benefit of the client and for the team internally, use technical expertise and analytical thinking to contribute to the project strategy,
- Lead/direct client relationships ensuring the companies business KPIs are met and that existing business is protected and grown.
Core tasks/responsibilities: INTERNAL LEADERSHIP AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Provide visible, motivational and decisive leadership to project team members, providing support and guidance on client and project issues, enabling the project team to achieve their objectives
- Provide a professional perspective on quality procedures and processes within and across projects ensuring clients receive a class leading quality service
- Develop close working relationships with team members thereby enabling provision of regular feedback on performance, both directly and to line managers
- Actively participate in the company training and development programme, coaching individual team members, as required.
- Acting as a principal point of contact liaise with clients and external experts to identify Client needs and ensure the project team delivers the appropriate output.
- Through effective line management ensure training development and performance management of all line reports as required.
- Use technical expertise to contribute to project strategy.
- Act as a source of healthcare and policy expertise within the company and for the client.
- Deliver the full range of projects and services working independently as needed.
- Manage a project team, own time and multiple projects to achieve productivity targets and successfully deliver them within agreed timelines and budgets.
BRIEFING AND REVIEWING
- Effectively brief colleagues (editors, project support and design) on time allocations, target audiences, client's key messages and schedules, and proactively provide ideas / creative input
- Considering your overview of the overall needs of your Client review output for structure, scientific accuracy and creativity, and against the client's rationale for the work, specific project objectives, key messages, target audiences and consistency with the marketing communication aims
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
- Maintain current awareness of market and academic issues relating to the delivery of products and services
- Act as a main source of project and company service area expertise within company and for the client
- Perform research and data collation using the Internet, databases, published and unpublished materials, and interviews, using multiple methods, as required.
- Undertake qualitative interpretation of data, including critical appraisal and gap analysis.
- Undertake and interpret numerical analyses (eg summary statistics, meta-analyses and health economic models).
- Prepare clear, accurate and grammatically correct materials across products and services, using a range of media (eg Word, PowerPoint, Excel) that are appropriate for different audiences.
CLIENT MANAGEMENT
- Establish positive long-term relationships with a wide range of clients and client organisations
- Single-handedly manage client meetings of all types
- Effectively troubleshoot / handle objections from the client to ensure continuing good relationships
- Conduct regular client meetings to review project team performance, including co-ordination of annual client health-check meetings, with senior colleagues as appropriate.
- Ensure existing clients receive proactive ideas and creative input to assist and also challenge their own thinking and planning.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Considering your overview of the needs of your clients, develop new business and business on existing projects
- Proactively develop new business opportunities, ventures and ideas to propose to both existing and new clients, which will benefit both clients and the company.
- Drive proposal development and participate in new business development pitches.
- Working with senior colleagues identify, secure and lead and direct new business opportunities as required

- Efficiently manage competing projects.
- Alert colleagues to any potential problems in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and company contacts.
- Work within agreed deadlines and budgets.
- Follow company style guidelines and procedures.
