This is an opportunity to join a flourishing independent medical communications agency in an account management capacity being based in their Kent office.
Purpose:
To provide a service that exceeds client expectations.
To supervise/mentor Account Managers and Administration Assistants to ensure that the company is responsive to client needs in terms of skill level and delivery of projects and programmes to the highest possible standards of client satisfaction to achieve this goal. This will include ensuring an effective interface between operational areas of the business (such as Creative Services) and integration of assigned editorial resources.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure client service resources are appropriately allocated across existing and new projects, and planned forward to minimize disruption and ensure account consistency wherever possible
- Provide line management supervision/mentoring on 2-3 reports
- Support the training of client services personnel in the skills necessary to undertake planned/proposed projects
- Ensure client service resources are well motivated and integrated into the client team with editorial and that they understand their roles and responsibilities within this team
- Provide appropriate recommendations for promotions and salary reviews
- Ensure appropriate processes and operating procedures are in place to provide project management of the highest quality and efficiency
- Provide strategic input into key accounts and take an active interest in other accounts to support Client Services
- Ensure the highest standards of client relations to maintain longevity of the accounts and account growth, supported through effective de-briefs after events and regular status meetings
- To support the Pitch process
- Provide input to the Director Client Services, Managing Editor, and Operations Director, to ensure effective planning and efficient utilisation of account and editorial resources and skills across the Group
- Contribute to the development of effective information and communication within Client services
- Promote the positive vision of the Company and realize the benefits of a flexible approach to work in undertaking the duties and responsibilities of the job, and participating in multi-disciplinary cross-department and cross-organizational groups and project teams
- Provide timely and accurate budgets on all projects and ensure Client Finance has the necessary information for their financial planning
- Strive to minimize the time to convert proposed business into sold projects, ensuring invoices are raised in a timely and appropriate manner
- Provide accurate guidance to the Finance Manager to ensure appropriate monthly revenue recognition in line with Corporate deadlines
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
- Science/life science degree
- Evidence of extensive experience working in a comparable role, including a broad range of communication skills
- Strong appreciation of our business needs and resourcefulness in coming up with solutions to their challenges
- Understanding of the drug development process and background in pharmaceutical medicine
- Understanding and experience in the use of core MedEd programme skills: eg Strategic Publications planning; KOL development; e-Media channels
- Ability to relate to key client personnel in a professional and credible fashion
- Well developed personal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of staff
- Good interpersonal skills and well developed leadership and management skills
