Our client provides cutting edge solutions to pharmaceutical clients for exhibitions and live events and integrated digital tools in the form of apps, software and websites. To consolidate their market leading position in the industry they are seeking a Sales Director to sell their portfolio of services.
Working in a highly dynamic, fast moving environment, this is a significant opportunity to work within a newly formed sales and marketing team representing two well established industry leaders in both digital and live event consultancy and services in Medical communications industry.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Business Development, the successful candidate will develop and implement a Sales & Marketing strategy and associated tactics to successfully contribute to the delivery of $1M of new business in 2012.
Purpose:
Our client is seeking a highly ambitious and self motivated individual who can work both independently and as part of a team to realize sales targets. They should be adaptable and flexible with an ability to multitask to a high level, and will be required to establish and nurture strong professional relationships with multiple internal and client stakeholders across multiple time zones.
Responsibilities:
- To achieve 2012 collective sales target from sales of targeted products and services. Develop clear and aggressive sales strategy, including customer segmentation and sales plans for each of the offerings, as well as ‘target list' of customers
- Sales planning and delivery (all working with Senior Director of Business Development)
- Generate ongoing leads with customer base, maintaining a clear and concise database of leads, including all related status of leads (including maintenance of existing new business database)
- Develop and maintain appropriate credentials presentation and working with the Product Development Director, individual sales materials for each of the eProducts available
- Deliver credentials presentations as identified through own leads or as directed to leads via divisions
- Develop effective sales proposals, lead pitches for identified opportunities and involve other personnel as appropriate.
- Negotiation of scope and pricing with clients
- Closing of sale with appropriate procurement team
- Play involved role with internal process to identify potential new business opportunities within existing clients
- Effectively handover secured business to internal personnel as appropriate, including clear description of agreed scope, timelines, budgets and client contacts
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong track record in healthcare communications business development.
- Demonstrable ability to achievable sales targets within similar customer base.
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Good industry contacts and connections
- Extensive experience of selling electronic solutions and or exhibition solutions to healthcare, including client drivers and pricing
- Understanding and experience in successfully negotiating client organizations, including potential legal and procurement stakeholders
- Excellence in pitch planning and delivery
- Proven ability to comprehend client needs and develop appropriate proposal in response
- Proven ability in pricing negotiation
- Track record in maintain client relationships long-term to enable follow-on sales, including proven examples of ongoing selling relationships to major clients
- Experience in support of product marketing to healthcare clients, including online and offline marketing strategies and execution - proven revenue and lead generation through LinkedIn, semantic web, SEO, online networking, conference presence
- Self-motivated and committed sales and marketing professional with ability to develop and execute sales strategy, from identification of lead to securing of the business
- Excellent understanding of the healthcare environment and current issues and climate
