Description
A leading communications agency has an opportunity for a project director to join their market access division, based in their Cheshire offices.
 
Purpose:

Manage, resource and develop a group of Research Associates and Technical Managers of varying experience to achieve the highest standard of output and client service.
Assist in developing the growth and shape of the company as a specialist service by developing new client relationships, expanding the range of products and services, and via management team contribution. Lead, direct and participate in client project delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Management Team to develop and deliver the company strategic plan.
  • Provide effective line management for all line reports, appraise performance, set their objectives, assess their training needs, manage their performance against targets and review their remuneration packages.
  • Participate in staff recruitment by assessing suitability of candidates.
  • Provide guidance on core skills by regularly reviewing output from the group.
  • Drive resource forecasting. Highlight and manage resourcing issues in a timely manner. Adequately resource the team, enabling them to achieve their chargeable time targets.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent project management standard and high-quality outputs.
  • Lead and direct client projects by taking ultimate responsibility for their strategic direction, overall client service and financial management.
  • Liaise with client and external experts, and act as the primary point of contact according to the requirements of the project.
  • Review outputs against client's rationale for work.
  • Contribute to, and participate in, proposal development and pitches for new business.
  • Identify new commercial opportunities through new and existing contacts.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Science Degree
  • Relevant agency experience, or previous work experience in industry
  • Can demonstrate extensive experience of reviewing the work of others and providing constructive feedback
  • Demonstrates strong capability for financial management.
  • Demonstrates capability for business development activity to expand the existing customer base
  • Has an excellent understanding of the market and/or industry awareness from an international and/or domestic perspective
  • Understanding and interpreting the needs of clients and providing solutions to meet those needs
  • Demonstrates high level strategic thinking and capability both externally for the benefit of the client and internally to support colleagues.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and commands respect of others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and first class communication skills
  • An exemplary project manager, attentive to detail with strong organisational skills
  • Effective line managers, brings out the best in others
  • Team player
