Description

This is an opportunity to join an award winning agency in a leadership role. You would join the team in their Hertfordshire offices.

Purpose:

To drive the development and revenue growth of the medical education division by developing and driving strategy, new products, client relationships, proposals and successful delivery of medical education projects for repeat and growing business.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy development: To develop and implement a strategy to drive the business.
  • Product innovation: To proactively develop innovative products, from concept through to delivery, enhancing company offerings to clients and to work with the Business Development Group (BDG) and Client Services to promote these to new and existing clients.
  • Proposal development: To work with Client Services and BDG to drive client proposals and opportunities to build business with new and existing clients.
  • Project delivery: To oversee the development and delivery of projects for clients to high standards of quality and delivery and aligned to company objectives.
  • Team leadership and management: To provide leadership to the team - in the form of motivation, mentoring and development of team members, raising the profile of the function internally; to oversee the workload and workflow - ensuring effective running of the team, and efficient effective use of resources.    
  • Quality control: To ensure consistency of high standard of quality and accuracy for all materials produced by or processed through the team.

Responsibilities to include:

  • To work with senior management in the development and implementation of a strategy to drive business revenue by driving the development and realisation of new product offerings and proposals and the successful delivery of projects to gain the trust and repeat business from clients.
  • To develop strong relationships with clients and Client Services for greater understanding of their objectives, problems and needs; to become a strong and effective strategic partner with clients; to identify business opportunities with our clients and develop appropriate proposals and recommendations to capitalise on such opportunities.
  • To drive and support projects as needed to achieve successful outcomes for clients that encourage repeat business.
  • To provide medical education support and expertise when required for projects, proposals, pitches and client meetings.
  • To drive and deliver medical education projects for clients delivered in line with company objectives and standards to ensure leading delivery of the project for the client; attend onsite projects, events and client meetings; drive and support the team and its projects.
  • To ensure the team and its projects works within project budgets, in line with company objectives for agreed profitability.
  • To work closely with Client Services in supporting clients on their projects and proactively update Account Managers/Directors regularly with regards to clients’ roles, brands, marketing objectives, strategies and plans.
  • To manage and track projects, proposals and company information effectively by keeping files updated to ensure all related information is easily accessible to other colleagues.
  • To drive or oversee research on clients, medical education projects, KOLs and other related topics as required by clients, to support business growth and development.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Qualified to degree level or above in a life-science degree
  • Significant experience of medical education and healthcare marketing gained in a healthcare, advertising or marketing agency or healthcare marketing environment or equivalent.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable across a broad range of medical education strategies, tactics and initiatives
  • Experienced in successful programme and product development and execution
  • Strong creative and drive for developing unique and innovative offerings
  • Strong focus and passion for high standards and attention to detail
  • Strong initiative to drive new initiatives and projects
  • Dynamic, with a contagious positive “can do” outlook
  • Natural driver, forward-planner with strong initiative and hunger to succeed
  • Team player – respectful and supportive of all colleagues and ability to lead projects and teams where required
  • Mature, credible and comfortable in working and liaising with colleagues and clients of all disciplines and seniority
  • Organised and respectful of deadlines
  • Reliable, tolerant and determined to succeed
  • Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view
  • Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability
  • Strong commercial acumen and appreciation
  • Strong proposal writing and development skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to understand project budgets and basic business finance
  • Adept in use Microsoft packages, internet and email
  • Ability to travel as required
