ID-SS Candidates Job - Medical Affairs Consultant

Reference PID 2595
Title Medical Affairs Consultant
Description

My client is a strategic marketing consultancy which specialises in providing commercial support to marketing and licensing teams in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. They currently have a requirement for a Medical Affairs Consultant to join their Cheshire based team.

The consultancy is part of an independent agency which employs more than 75 people based in UK and International offices.

The Consultancy focuses on supporting early stage (pre-clinical to phase III) strategic commercial decisions. They have many years’ first-hand experience working with emerging pharmaceutical and biotechnology products, from disease area strategies, portfolio decision making, early brand management to licensing evaluations. Whether the opportunity relates to products from in-house R&D, licensing candidates or new options for existing products, they support their clients to identify and explore commercial opportunities, forecast the market potential and develop appropriate commercial strategies.

This opportunity is for an experienced medical affairs expert to join the team in Cheshire. The successful candidate will work closely with a small team of highly experienced commercial strategists and business analysts to provide support directly to their clients.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

You will have extensive experience of providing technical input to healthcare strategic marketing including identifying unmet medical needs, competitor analysis, developing differentiated product profiles and ensuring commercial strategy and claims are acceptable from a technical, ethical and promotional regulatory perspective. You will excel in analysing large volumes of medical data to distil the key commercial implications. Experience of working with early stage brands (pre-clinical to phase 2) or assessment of licensing candidates would be an advantage.

This role combines a strong scientific grounding with sound commercial acumen. It is likely that you will have a good pharmacy, life-science or medical degree together with several years’ research experience before having moved into a global commercial strategy or medical affairs
role within a pharmaceutical company or healthcare agency. Key skills include the ability to seek and critically assess information, put it into context and evaluate its commercial impact.

A proven ability to build good relationships with clients in a variety of functions (commercial, clinical, discovery, regulatory) and opinion leaders is also required.

Package:

In return you can expect an excellent salary and benefits.

At ID Search & Selection we operate in a highly consultative way, taking time to understand your requirements. So if this role isn’t the “right” role please call 01932 797996 to speak with one of our highly experienced consultants.
