Here is an opportunity to join one of the world's leading independent medical communications agencies as an account manager and be based in their London offices.

Position Summary:

To effectively manage a variety of high quality scientific communications ensuring the efficient and timely implementation of projects

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Contact / Professional Relations:
  • Manages and maintains client relationship and acts as the day to day contact.
  • Interacts with key international contacts and medical opinion leaders
Project Management:
  • Uses scientific and commercial experience to develop and implement concepts and ideas that support clients marketing objectives
  • Keeps fully abreast of developments / changes within the external environment that directly impact the client
  • Generates project briefs, timelines and process documents
  • Implements the timely delivery of effective services to the complete satisfaction of the client
  • Independently manages a range of projects and provides input into more complex projects
  • Provides coaching and guidance to more junior members of the team
  • Organises regular project status meetings to track progress and keep the client updated
  • Brief and coordinate internal project team(s) including staff and individuals from other departments and offices
  • Attend conferences, scientific symposia, and advisory boards
  • Participate in on-site activities as deemed appropriate (e.g. front-of-house duties, printing and duplicating slide-sets, running pre-meeting slide review with client or key opinion leaders)
Financial:
  • Responsible for generating and submitting estimates and billing schedules for each project
  • On-going monitoring of budget using internal finance system and alerting client / senior members of the team to any potential overspend
  • Responsible for accurate input of all hours worked onto timesheets on a daily basis
Business Development:
  • Develops new business proposals for less complex projects
Education, Skills and Work Experience:
  • A life sciences degree or PhD and ideally experience in a medical communications agency or pharmaceutical environment or equivalent
  • Knowledge of at least three core business activities
  • Good knowledge of one or two therapy areas
  • IT Literate, intermediate use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
