Description

Our client is an international medical communications agency with a need for an Account Manager to join their team in Macclesfield.

The Role:

This dynamic team of medical communications specialists work with both US and EU-based clients on a broad range of medical education and communication projects. These include scientific papers and posters, conference materials and symposia, advisory boards, newsletters and internal company training materials and e learning tools.

The diverse nature of the work means opportunities to develop a broad range of skills within a nurturing environment. These include client relationship building, financial and project management and proposal development. There is significant opportunity for travel both within the EU, US and Asia.

Areas of expertise currently include oncology, virology and immunotherapy but business expansion will drive further diversification into other therapy areas.     

The job might suit an experienced account executive or project manager ready to make the move into account management or a recently promoted account manager wanting to rapidly expand their skill base and responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Life sciences degree desirable but not essential
  • Prior agency experience either in medical education/communications, PR or pharmaceutical industry (e.g. logistics, publication management, healthcare professional relations) would be suitable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to project confidence and trust
  • Customer-centric approach 
  • Methodical and detailed approach to financial and project management disciplines
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative and enquiring mind
  • Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare environment   

A significant amount of activity is deadline driven so strong project management skills and experience of working in teams is essential. There is a reasonable amount of meetings management so logistical experience and attention to detail are key attributes.

The ideal candidate would have the attributes above plus the drive and enthusiasm to want to learn and progress their career rapidly by demonstrating a can-do attitude, strong desire for teamwork and goal oriented approach to delivering high quality projects on time and to client expectations.
