My client, a leading medical communications agency has a requirement for an account manager to be based in the Cheshire office.
Description:
They need an experienced Account Manager to join their Projects Team. They currently have a rapidly growing business within this team. The business is split between meetings/promo and publications work, across more than 8 client teams with the potential for growth.
The successful person will have responsibility for their own projects with full client contact. This is a very busy team with multiple client contacts (clinical and marketing) within each Client Team.
Client support:
- Agree and follow communication and approval processes with clients and provide timely and appropriate advice
- Demonstrate knowledge of therapeutic area, market, audience and key messages
- Thorough understanding of client environment
- Thorough knowledge of Company products and services and how they will meet client needs
- Able to develop strong relationships with clients
- To be central/lead contact
- Able to lead project status meetings
- Take and communicate client brief and work with account team to ensure client requirements and overall objectives are met
- Able to develop relationships with international opinion leaders providing clear and timely communication and acting in the interest of the client and the company at all times
- Overall financial responsibility including written proposal, budgeting, monitoring of budgets, timely invoicing, provision of invoice tracker etc
- Excellent verbal and written communicator with all contacts (internal and external
- Largely depends on editorial for copy development
- Thorough understanding and implementation of company financial processesGood negotiator (both with clients and suppliers)
Internal Liaison:
- Leadership, motivation and support of the whole account team – promotes teamwork
- Appropriate, clear and effective internal communication
- Lead efficient working practices with other departments ensuring clear communication, briefing and feedback and promoting teamwork
- Identify and resolve internal issues
- Share best practice across account team and departments
- Demonstrate maturity
Delivery:
- Ensure delivery of content and output to meet client brief
- Excellent project management and organisational skills to ensure projects are on time, on budget andon message
- Clear written communication with client and internal team (e.g. proposals, status reports)
- Set up and drive processes to enable team deliver agreed financial targets in an effective manner
- Proactive and service orientated, aims to exceed client expectation
- Responsible for client satisfaction
Business Development:
- Proactively develop business within existing accounts and clientsWide knowledge of client company and key roles
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
Management:
- Manage self and staff development including mentoring, coaching and training as required
- Manage team capacity and responsibilities
- Ensure clarity of responsibility/role for each team member
- Line management responsibilities including performance grading, appraisals and objective setting
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:
- Must be strong project manager, able to manage multiple client contacts and work to tight deadlines. Experience in MedComms/related field is essential.Confident and decisive
