An international medical communications agency has an opportunity for an Account Director to join their team based in their Cheshire office.
Role Summary:
- Lead/direct client accounts by taking ultimate responsibility for overall client service and financial delivery, identifying opportunities to increase the level of business
- Identify and win new business together with senior colleagues
- Provide strategic guidance to clients and to internal account teams
Responsibilities: Team Management:
- Lead, coach and motivate the internal account team, providing support and advice on client and project issues.
- Working with senior editorial colleagues, ensure appropriate account team resource levels are maintained via effective account team forecasting and succession planning.
Client Management:
- Contribute to own accounts through hands-on management of the client and, where appropriate, liaison with opinion leaders. Provide strategic input/commercial understanding to clients and to the internal team.
- Secure profitable ongoing business and also expand the opportunities on accounts.
- Ensure clients receive proactive ideas and creative input to assist and challenge their own thinking and planning.
Financial:
- Ensure best practice financial management across accounts, achieving accurate forecasting, phasing and delivery of account plans
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Life Science Degree or higher qualification
- Can demonstrate strategic and tactical thinking
- Has an understanding of the full range of medical communications outputs
- Can demonstrate experience of best practise financial management and achieving financial objectives
- As well as effective project management
- Relevant agency experience, previous work experience in industry or equivalent knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Attentive to detail with strong organisational skills
- Good presentation skills and ability to facilitate meetings
- Computer literacy
- Enthusiastic self-starter, eager to achieve
- Team player
- Confident and assertive in client and colleague interactions
- Available for International Travel
