My client is an extremely well known communications agency based in the North West. Continued success requires the addition of a Senior Account Manager to their team.
Principal purpose of the role:
- To act as an advisor and role model to Account Managers on all aspects of Account Manager responsibilities.
- To act as a source of expertise in a specific area, for the benefit of the client.
- To be responsible for the management and delivery of medical communications services through personal expertise and that of the dedicated project teams, with particular focus on financial aspects
- Demonstrate excellent account management skills through proven contribution to accounts.
Core tasks/responsibilities:
- Have an identifiable area of specific expertise, keep abreast of developments in that area, and be available to clients for advice and consultation on that area.
- Work with and support (coach and mentor) other personnel to ensure teamwork within and across accounts.
- Provide a professional, quality marketing and strategy perspective within and across accounts.
- Actively participate in delivery of the company training programme.
- Deputise for Line Managers.
- Participate in staff recruitment.
- Contribute to succession planning (account team and functional group).
- Single-handedly manage client meetings of all types.
- Lead, coach and motivate the internal project teams.
- Liaise effectively with the client and opinion leaders, acting as a primary point of contact according to the requirements of the account.
- Work with Account Directors to enable / facilitate the provision of regular feedback on performance, both directly and to Line Managers.
- Ensure adequate resourcing of accounts, working alongside Line Managers and Account Directors for resource forecasting and to highlight any issues before they impact on team performance or the client relationship.
- Secure profitable ongoing business and expand the opportunities available, including negotiation with clients on price.
- Contribute to new proposal development and participate in pitches for new business, where expertise is required.
- Understand the commercial strategy for the product and provide advice and recommendations on how to achieve the communications objectives.
- Keep abreast of developments and attitudes in the worldwide healthcare environment at industry, government and health service levels.
- Work with the Business Development Director to exploit new business opportunities.
- Develop new business opportunities, ventures and ideas to propose to both existing and new clients, which will benefit the clients.
- Contribute strongly to new proposal development and participate in pitches for new business, where expertise is required.
- Efficiently manage competing projects.
- Alert colleagues to any potential problems in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and company contacts.
- Work within agreed deadlines and budgets.
