A leading international communications agency has an opportunity for an account manager to join their client services team. This role will involve the strategic development of accounts as well as a wider input into the business as a whole. As a proven leader and communicator you will demonstrate the building of strong client relationships.
Job Purpose:
You will be responsible for providing strategic medical/marketing direction and input to defined client projects / accounts. You will be responsible for delivery of projects within budgeted hours and revenue and also to maximise client and target audience satisfaction with all projects. You will identify and develop new as well as roll on business opportunities and encourage development of other members in the project teams.
Key Accountabilities:
- To propose strategic direction of allocated accounts encompassing all aspects of programme/project development through thorough knowledge of market issues, company’s and project’s overall strategic objectives.
- To identify and develop roll-on business through idea generation, project plan creation, financial viability and development of presentation materials.
- To be financially accountable for allocated projects, closely monitoring profitability. To maximise growth and profitability of accounts.
- To present internally and externally for example New Business Plans (in conjunction with Business Development Team) Action Plans, Case Histories or Project Plans.
- To develop strong relationships with key client contacts and obtain regular feedback.
- Responsible for client satisfaction on delivery of projects to agreed specification and quality within budget and timescales.
- To review the scope of all assigned projects and identify the range and depth of support necessary for achieving account and project objectives.
- To lead project teams on all aspects of project briefing, planning, scheduling, budgets and resourcing.
- To verify the strategic medical/marketing development of all projects.
- To coach and mentor project team members.
- Regularly feed back to Account Director on project team members performance, progress and development.
- To provide regular account/project updates to Account Director.
- To develop and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues at all levels within the company and proactively encourage and implement improved efficiencies.
- To deputise for the Account Director where appropriate.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required:
- Experience from pharmaceutical industry/agency environment, preferably in the international arena or equivalent knowledge
- Experience of pharmaceutical strategic marketing programmes including implementation and monitoring of PR and Publication Planning projects
- Degree in medicine, pharmacy, life sciences, marketing or other relevant area
- Experience of all aspects of financial project management or the ability to demonstrate a full understanding of these processes.
- Experience of managing a team of staff and well developed people management skills

- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
- Understanding of Branding and Advertising processes and implementation would be an advantage
