Purpose:
To work as part of a client service team, reporting to an Account Director/Senior Medical Writer Team Leader, to provide high-quality writing and editorial services on a range of client projects.
Nature/scope:
- To undertake writing projects as required, from brief to finished item, completed to deadline and budget
- To manage individual writing projects
- To work with client service team to achieve project objectives and assist in achieving income targets
- To liaise with clients and attend client meetings as required, including foreign travel and conference attendance
- To acquire knowledge of therapeutic areas as required
- To contribute to business pitch activity where appropriate
Key skills required:
- Ability to write clearly, with scientific accuracy and to brief
- Ability to edit and proofread
- Ability to handle artwork and carry out production editing
- Good scientific and medical understanding/knowledge
- Good projects management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and opinion leaders
- Knowledge of Microsoft computer packages
- Good organizational ability and time management
- Ability to work as part of a team
Qualifications:
Ideally you will have a BSc or higher degree in the biological sciences and 2 years’ writing experience in an agency, industry or publishing environment or equivalent knowledge.
