| Description |
Purpose:
- To manage designated client accounts
- Take client briefs and develop proposal and/or business schedules and costings to meet the brief
- Develop a relationship with the client that is viewed by both parties as a partnership
- To understand the needs and requirements of each project
- Work closely with other members of the account, editorial and design teams
- To ensure that all client needs are being met in a timely and cost effective manner
- Work with the client to identify unmet communication needs to achieve marketing objectives
Nature/Scope:
- Report to the Account Director
- Provide a pivotal (but not sole) link between the client and internal teams
- Provide the client with solutions for their communication programmes
- Take day to day responsibility for the account and ensure that the client obtains high quality items within the specified time scales and allocated budget
- Work on a daily basis in an organized and profitable manner
- Delegate and prioritize work accordingly
- Work closely with the other team members
Principal Accountabilities:
- Day to day liaison with the client on account management issues and resolution of any problems that arise
- Take client briefs and develop and present proposals
- Liaise with medical writer(s) and/or the designer to brief projects internally
- Check schedules prior to agreement with the client and commencement of work
- To ensure that all projects are costed competitively and agreed by the client prior to commencement of work
- To provide strategic direction to writers as required to ensure correct strategic focus of deliverables
- Liaise internally with the financial accountant to ensure that projects are invoiced timely and accurately and to ensure that all external costs on the WIP are passed onto the client (and marked-up where applicable)
- To monitor the time spent on projects and ensure that deliverables are done within allocated time and budget
- To re-cost items when the initial brief is changed
- Development of business opportunities within existing accounts
- Update project status reports and budget status reports and circulated to client teams
Qualifications and experience:
- Life science degree preferred, with a least 3 years relevant experience preferably in an agency or industry environment
- Scientific background
- Extensive publications planning experience
- Identification and evaluation of scientific journals
- Identification and analysis of authors
- Competitor gap analysis
- Liaising with authors
- Critical reviewing of scientific papers
- Scientific writing experience would be an advantage
