A leading medical communications agency has an opportunity for a PR professional with previous international accounts experience or knowledge.

The team includes medical education and PR experts and a team of highly qualified technical writers and it delivers international communications programmes with a medical edge. The team work across medical education and PR programmes, but at this strategic global level the two are highly complimentary. As part of a large international company, it is able to collaborate with clinical PR teams elsewhere in the business as well as the specialist practices in digital communications, branding, public affairs plus colleagues in countries around the world. In this way, the company can build highly specific teams suited to the requirements of each client.

Background:

  • 3–5 years agency/pharma/publications/service sector experience – (PR focus preferred) or equivalent knowledge
  • An in-depth understanding of medical communications
  • International and strategic experience preferred
  • Able to bring new perspectives based on experience in other agencies
  • Exceptional client management approach
  • Some knowledge of mental health and /or cardiology preferred

Qualifications:

  • A good BSc (Hons) in a life science
  • Additional qualifications are beneficial

Experience/Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experienced in managing top 20 pharmaceutical company accounts (preferably at a global level
  • International medical communications experience – operational and previous exposure to strategic thinking
  • Able to draw on personal experience and expertise
  • Outstanding client handling skills
  • Clear understanding of medical comms programme elements
  • Experienced in working with team to high quality control practices
  • Highly organised with attention to planning and detail
  • A demonstrable talent for account handling
  • Proven team working skills
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Able to work in a matrix management structure
  • Experience of financial management – budgeting and forecasting on accounts
  • Experience of supporting business development at new business pitches
  • Able to bring ideas and opportunities for new business prospects
  • A confident and effective communicator
  • Focused on team and individual objectives
