Our client is a multi-award winning healthcare communications agency who due to growth are seeking a PR Director to join their team in their London offices.
Working closely with the Managing Director and the Senior Leadership Team, you will share in the responsibility of building the business and your team whilst providing your clients with expertise and strategic counsel. You will act as ambassador, both internally and externally, bringing a strong, positive authority that inspires confidence in your actions and decisions amongst clients and your team. You will lead from the front and by example and demonstrate leadership and management that combine to inspire, direct and support others.

You will be the business lead for client accounts and new business activities, with accountability for the delivery of work to the highest quality. You will share financial responsibility for developing and delivering the company business plan along with the Senior Management Team. You will see the bigger picture commercially and identify and respond to the changing needs of the agency.
Provide proactive advice internally and externally; inspire teams to do things differently and look at things in a new way; identify opportunities to elevate the agency’s work and the way that it’s done; facilitate team members’ development and challenge individuals to improve their skills sets.
Coach, support and motivate staff at all levels to produce excellent work and overcome obstacles; demonstrate the ability to proactively give constructive feedback to team members and act as an ambassador for professional development and training as well as longer-term personal development.
Take the lead on major accounts, taking the reins to set and maintain or evolve strategic direction; proactively input into work, adding fresh thinking and sparkle for existing clients and supporting delivery teams in challenging themselves and the status quo; quickly recognise market changes and issues that could threaten the programme of work or necessitate a directional re-think; accountability for effective delivery of a programme; cultivate a partnership role with clients in shaping their overall marketing strategy.
Input into the development of the agency new business strategy; contribute to and lead new business pitches, setting and checking strategy through programme development. Develop existing and potential clients and build industry relationships
Appropriately identify client business/team/agency processes and structures (e.g. financial, personal development, information-sharing, marketing, administration and client-reporting tools) that need updating, streamlining or introducing.
Work closely with the financial team to monitor company finances, pre-empt any issues and take any remedial financial decisions at an agency level. Take a strong and confident approach to client negotiation on budgets and ensure investment is managed appropriately.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Educate to degree level
Have significant experience of delivering ethical PR programmes within a healthcare agency environment
Have experience of leading and running account teams on international, European or domestic accounts
The ability to provide inspirational leadership and able to effectively delegate
Organised, efficient and adept at problem-solving
